I was curious as to why a b flat was constantly played during the initial boggie woogie segment at the beginning of the piece. I’m sure you know the original chord melody is a right handed two note lick with the left hand boogie walk. I’m hearing 3 notes with that b flat. ?? Other than that it’s a very fine studio recording.
They asked Bill Evans to create this, he was a tad preoccupied with creating cool, fusion jazz with his fellow compadre in arms Miles.. I am a massive fan of Bill and his accomplishments. But the greatest decision Charles and his massive crew ever made was Vince. He took it to heart and ran with it further than they could have ever expected.
Try to find things to think of while listening to this song that make you cry. There’s very few, are there not?
(I’ve got one— it’s solar telescopes. Do not ask why.)

I’ve never understood why this song gets played on the radio during Christmas, as if Peanuts only had a Christmas special.
